Role

As a Performance Engineer on our AV team, you’ll help us ensure that our end-to-end video workflows can be counted on when put to the test in live, large-scale event scenarios. You get intimately familiar with our code and figure out new ways to improve speed, reliability and ensure that our technology is highly performant during live sporting events.

Responsibilities

Determine our limits before we reach them in production via load testing
Develop automated tests and simulations for large-scale, on-demand testing
Define and implement metrics to quantify and communicate quality and reliability
Participate in post-mortems and root cause analysis to identify and eliminate gaps in our automated QA
Propose and develop new monitoring capabilities of AV stack performance and system health
Propose new designs or re-designs for components in the AV stack to support higher performance/stability

Requirements

Excellent programming skills with mainstream languages such as Python
Up-to-date awareness of the DevOps, testing, and automation landscape
Working knowledge of audio and video concepts
Expert understanding of how to design (or break) high availability architectures
Experience building large-scale automated testing infrastructure
Background in analyzing complex systems end-to-end, identifying bottlenecks, and developing solutions
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
