Businesses have begun the process of transforming their organizations in response to the demand that they deliver useful software that evolves with the needs of their customers. If you take away the software part of this statement, what we are left with is the notion that we must listen, understand, and become deeply engaged with other people (our customers) to succeed.
In order for your company to be successful, you will have to learn how to do this both internally and externally. A dysfunctional organization which has little to no empathy internally will have a tremendously difficult time engaging their customers with the type of understanding and compassion that is required to remain competitive in today’s market.
