In the IT industry, testing in production has always been considered a “bad word”. However, we in Capital One have been doing it for over a year and realized a lot of benefits!
“Game Day” is a concept that Capital One has been utilizing to test in production in order to validate the capacity and resiliency of the critical applications. Typically testing in production could lead to customer impacts and outages, however, we have been able to conduct multiple successful exercises with no negative adverse impact. This session will go over how we are able to safely test in production, value realized so far as well as future plans.
