SUMMARY:Fake News: easier to detect with sentiment analysis
DESCRIPTION:In his talk on “Fake News: easier to detect with sentiment analysis\,” Sanjaikanth E. Vadakkethil Somanathan Pillai addresses a critical issue exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. With over 7 million lives lost globally by May 2024\, many have turned to the Internet and social media for information\, often encountering false and misleading content. Sanjaikanth presents a cutting-edge system that leverages ensemble learning methods—such as bagging\, boosting\, stacking\, and voting—alongside recurrent neural networks (RNN) to identify fake news. \nHe delves into how integrating sentiment and emotional analyses enhances the accuracy of these detection systems. By examining the emotional tone and sentiment behind the information\, the system can more effectively distinguish between genuine and false content. Sanjaikanth shares compelling results from his research\, demonstrating that the inclusion of sentiment and emotional analyses significantly boosts the system’s ability to detect misinformation. This innovative approach not only advances fake news detection but also underscores the importance of combining technical methods with human-like understanding to combat the spread of false information online. \n \n  \n  \n\nSpeaker Profile :\n\nSanjaikanth E. This is an excellent example of Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion (DEI). Studies reveal that diversity in participation produces better outcomes and more robust technologies. \nThe use of Open Source software and APIs helps users and administrators of databases gain significant value in analyzing the functionality and performance of their specific database products. This is also an excellent avenue to help modernize the Mainframe. \nThe establishment of a connection to a database via a REST API (with optional Open Source ZOWE features) and combining it with an Open Source time-series database coupled with a dashboard visualization package\, creates an “Embrace Open”. SUMMARY:Minneapolis/St. Paul Regional CMG Meeting Mainframe – Still Innovated at Any Age
DESCRIPTION:Date:                 Thursday September 22\, 2022 \nTime:                1:00 PM – 4:00 PM \nLocation:          Sirius Computer Solutions Inc \nAddress:           7760 France Avenue S.  – Meeting on 2nd Floor Bloomington\, MN \nThe meeting is open to anyone who would like to attend. Cost:  n/c \n Register Here\n \n\nAgenda:\n1:00 – 1:15            Welcome / Business Meeting – CMG Board \n1:15 – 2:00            What did you do about the IBM/MLC 5% increase and some negotiation tips? – Brian Hoare \nAbstract:  In January 2022 IBM increased IBM/MLC by 5%. In January 2023\, the same increase will occur again – another 5%. Guess what\nwill happen in 2024? \nThis will get worse\, especially if you have a CPI increment inserted in your IBM agreements. CPI so far this year is 8.5%.  So\, a 5% IBM/MLC increase and a CPI increase.  This could be a big price increase – ouch! Have you considered how you can offset these cost increases? \nThis discussion will suggest ways to offset the 5% and ways to negotiate with IBM and other ISV’s. \n2:00 – 2:15             Break sponsored by Sirius \n2:15 – 4:00            “z16\, AI security\, Containers” – Ray Kilgore\, Sr. Solutions Architect \n4:00 – 6:00            Onsite Happy Hour – Sociable on 14th floor \n
