SUMMARY:Collaborative performance tuning using free tools
DESCRIPTION:Performance tuning of real systems is no small feat and often costly. It requires expertise in many domains\, such as how to plan and design an experiment\, how to conduct load testing\, what to measure\, and having knowledge of the system design and configuration settings of the whole tech stack. In addition\, effective performance tuning over time requires persistence\, organization\, and the ability to collaborate with peers and receive their feedback. The good news is that some of these challenges can be dealt with using modern off-the-shelf free tools\, and we’ll dive into Concertio’s experiment management system and its Optimizer Studio automatic optimization software\, that are available for free in a community version. From this webinar\, you will walk away with several key understandings\, which you will be able to apply in your environment: \n1] How can performance tuning be automated\n2] How to keep track of performance experiments\n3] How to effectively share experiment results and collaborate with teammates\n4] How to embed performance tuning in CI/CD pipelines \n  \nGet the Video and Whitepaper \n\n\n \n  \nPresenters \n \nTomer Paz – VP of Product @ Concertio \nConcertio product and tuning domains are led by Tomer Paz\, who is a software and system architect with over 20 years of experience in both startups and enterprise companies. Prior to co-founding Concertio\, Tomer served as global system architect under the CTO at Verint. Before that\, Tomer led a lean startup in the Gaming field as CEO. Tomer also served as system engineering team leader in Comverse\, the world leader in value added services for mobile phones in the past\, serving over a billion end-users and defining the next generation platforms\, technology stack\, performance and delivery automation. Tomer holds a BSc degree from Tel Aviv University in statistics\, operation research and philosophy. Tomer is also a Mamram graduate (the Israel Defense Forces computing academy). Linkedin – https://www.linkedin.com/in/tomerpaz/ \n  \nDr. Tomer Morad – CEO @ Concertio\nConcertio is led by Tomer Morad\, a seasoned entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience in management\, business development\, and technical leadership in the industry. Prior to co-founding Concertio\, Tomer co-founded and served as CEO of transSpot\, a provider of digital advertising solutions for the digital signage market. Before that\, Tomer served as CTO and Chairman of transSpot\, Chief Security Officer at Horizon Semiconductors\, and a technical team leader at an intelligence unit in the Israel Defense Forces. Tomer holds a PhD from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology\, which focused on energy-efficient system resource allocation. SUMMARY:ONLINE: Site Reliability Engineering Part 1 - Presented by Sandeep Madamanchi
DESCRIPTION:Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is a ‘SRE-ious’ movement that breaks down the traditional barriers and ends the age-old battles between Development & Operations teams. SRE essentially creates a hybrid role that tries to maintain an equilibrium between developing new features and running production systems reliably. \nMembers: See the Video Here \nThis is a 3 part webinar series that attempts to explore SRE from its origins\, an insight into its specific terminology to its current evolution as a standard to maintain or run production systems. Each part either tries to answer a series of questions or explores a set of inter-related topics – in an attempt to go in-depth and provide an overall picture \nPart 1 – SRE – Introduction → This part aims at introducing SRE fundamentals by answering a series of questions \n\nWhat is SRE? Is SRE different from DevOps? Are they competing standards?\nReliability vs Availability? How are they measured?\nWhat are the essential tools of SRE?\nWhat is toil? How to calculate toil and how to eliminate toil?\nHow does Automation fit into SRE?\nMeasuring vs Monitoring vs Alerting – How are they different?\n\nSessions in this series… \n\nMar 31 – Site Reliability Engineering Part 1\nApr 9 – Site Reliability Engineering Part 2\nApr 14 – Site Reliability Engineering Part 3\n\nAbout the Presenter \nSandeep Madamanchi is currently working as Director in R&D division at Manhattan Associates and heads the Productivity Engineering & Tooling team. Sandeep has been with Manhattan Associates from 2007 and worked in various capacities as a Business Analyst\, Design Lead\, Development Manager and Performance Engineering Lead. Sandeep is currently passionate about cloud technologies and he is a certified GCP & AWS Architect.
