The Computer Measurement Group Maximizes Attendees Travel Budgets by Teaming Up with Two Training Partners to Offer Extra Training at CMG’08
Attendees Can Take Advantage of Training Classes in ITIL and TCP/IP Network Performance Management in One Location
TURNERSVILLE, NJ, August 4, 2008 - The Computer Measurement Group (CMG), the Information Technology professionals responsible for planning, measuring and managing the performance of the world's largest IT infrastructures, announced today that it has teamed up with two training partners to offer extra training at CMG’08, at the 34th International Computer Measurement Group annual conference (CMG'08) taking place from December 7-12 in Las Vegas, NV at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel.
"We know that as the economy cools, companies are starting to shrink their travel budgets and take a more active role in keeping travel spending in check. With this in mind, we wanted to help CMG attendees maximize their travel budgets by providing some excellent extra training during this year’s annual conference," said Jaqui Lynch, CMG’08 general chair and chief of staff. "CMG is offering a training seminar presented by Metron-Athene Inc. culminating in the ISEB examination to earn an ITIL® Practitioner's Certificate in Capacity Management This class is suited to those wishing to broaden their ITIL® IT Service Management experience and those with full or part-time hands-on responsibility for planning, implementing and/or running a Capacity Management function. It will be equally useful for those already in this role desiring a formal understanding, or those who are about to enter a Capacity Management role and need training in how to perform. The course is intensive, highly practical and interactive, and includes assignments based on real life examples and practices.
The second training seminar is presented by Inside Products, Nalini Elkins on TCP/IP performance management, security, tuning and troubleshooting on z/OS. It is designed to provide attendees with an understanding of the performance management of their TCP/IP network, socket applications, and TCP/IP stack. It is designed to guide them in learning the basic concepts of TCP/IP network performance management by teaching a step-by-step approach to performance tuning. They will learn how to analyze SMF reports and various TCP/IP profile and setup parameters. They will also learn performance management of your TCP/IP stack, how socket application performance may be improved, and basic workload measurement. In addition, they will also learn where the security vulnerabilities are of the core Internet protocols and how to protect your installation.
