Computer Measurement Group Announces Theme for CMG’08 in Las Vegas, December 7-12, 2008
Architecting the Service Oriented Infrastructurefor Efficiency, Scalability and Agility
TURNERSVILLE, NJ, December 11, 2007 - The Computer Measurement Group (CMG), the Information Technology professionals responsible for planning, analyzing and managing the world’s largest IT infrastructures, announced today that the 34th Computer Measurement Group annual conference will take place December 7 -12 in Las Vegas, NV at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel.
The conference will focus on the explosive growth in the use of virtualization to add new levels of efficiency to the infrastructure. CMG’08 is positioned to help enterprise architects and administrators plan their infrastructure and take advantage of these new virtualization technologies.
According to Dave Thorn, Senior Technology Analyst with SunGard Computer Services, "The analysis, planning and implementation skills needed to achieve these new efficiencies are the core competence of the CMG community and have been since its inception... There is no better way to leapfrog the competition than to attend CMG’08 and network with the experts who attend".
A major theme for the conference in 2008 will be planning for green datacenters. Companies worldwide are struggling with ways to reduce the costs of power and cooling through new levels of efficiency. CMG’08 will have multiple sessions to help companies integrate new technologies along with virtualization into their datacenters to reduce their carbon footprint.
"The potential savings, increased reliability and flexibility of a virtualized, efficient infrastructure more than justifies the cost of the transition involved. CMG is the go to community where I can get the information necessary to achieve my goal successfully," added Thorn.
CMG members are experts at evaluating and deploying computer systems optimized for cost and quality of service. Members include professional capacity management personnel from the largest corporations around the world. CMG helps its members keep ahead of emerging technologies and meet the challenges of new computing architectures and directions.
The Computer Measurement Group (www.cmg.org) is a not for profit, worldwide organization of performance and capacity management professionals committed to ensuring the quality of IT service delivery to the business.
