Now is the time to plan your participation in CMG's 34th annual International Conference in Las Vegas, NV, Dec. 7 thru 12, 2008.

CMG'08 will have a theme of Architecting the Service Oriented Infrastructure for Efficiency, Scalability, and Agility. The Program Committee is working diligently on putting together plans for this year's schedule of presentations, to cover load and stress testing, benchmarking, performance optimization, software performance engineering, resource management, capacity analysis, simulation and analytic modeling, and cost management with special emphasis on Capacity Planning for green datacenters, Performance Visualization, Virtualization, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), IT Service Management and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), and the technology implications of globalization.

CMG invites you to submit an abstract by May 16th for a 30 or 60 minute weekday conference session - you'll have until June 13th to get the presentation submitted. Details of the Call for Papers are at http://www.cmg.org/conference/cmg2008/call-for-papers.html.

Perhaps you would like to consider offering your expertise via a 3-hour Sunday Workshop: If so, submit a title and abstract for review by April 4th. Details are available at http://www.cmg.org/conference/cmg2008/sw-form.html.

If you have questions about the paper-writing process and/or need individual attention getting a paper together, we can assist you with our mentoring program, which offers personalized help from previous CMG speakers. Even if you don't like to get up in front of crowds, you could consider crafting a poster session, which is presented in a more informal setting. The key consideration is to get YOU to consider writing a paper, as YOUR user experiences and knowledge can contribute to your fellow attendees' bank of knowledge.

CMG would also like to encourage you to volunteer your expertise as a referee this summer. Referees provide a self-assessment of areas of knowledge and are then contacted for verification by a subject area expert prior later this spring. A referee blind-reviews 3 or 4 submitted papers in the mid-June to mid-July timeframe. Go to http://www.cmg.org/cgi-bin/volunteer.pl to sign up on-line as a referee plus other positions before or at the conference. Descriptions are available for review at the above web location.

If your company would like to sponsor a booth or activity at the conference, CMG can provide you an exhibitor kit that provides all of the details. This kit is available at http://www.cmg.org/conference/vendor-info.html. Join other leading companies at our exhibitors' hall for 3 days during the conference as well as Monday User Group meeting times just prior to the conference. There are numerous options for your company to get your expertise in front of attendees all week long!

CMG'08 will be held in the incredible city of Las Vegas, in one of the finest hotels: The Paris Las Vegas! CMG has managed to get extremely attractive room prices at the Paris for this conference, and you will want to get your reservations lined up as soon as possible. Go to http://www.cmg.org/conference/cmg2008/hotel.html to get details about the $127 (plus tax) room rates and the hotel. Flights into Las Vegas are numerous, as well, which makes a winning combination with great hotel rates to make attendance at CMG'08 a good deal.
