As previously advised the UKCMG Systems Engineering for Availability and Performance TWO Day Seminar will be held on Tuesday 30 October and Wednesday 31 October at the Hilton Hotel, Olympia, London.

Presented by Colin Butcher, XDelta Ltd, the two day seminar is based on many years of practical experience. This is an opportunity to discuss and develop your understanding of how and why systems behave as they do. The rapid pace of change and the wide range of available technologies make it increasingly important to have a good understanding of the underlying principles and a clear view of how to apply systems to solve business issues.

This seminar will cover the performance, capacity and availability aspects of a wide range of topics - think of it as a wide-ranging "how it works" discussion touching on:

  • Microprocessor architecture, including dual-core / multi-core and hyperthreading
  • The IO subsystem and memory latency effects
  • Storage subsystems and SAN infrastructure
  • Network connectivity and network infrastructure
  • Operating systems and how they manage resources in a multi-user environment
  • Compilers and Java virtual machines
  • Virtualisation, blades, energy budgets and carbon footprint
  • Scalability and segmentation
  • Performance investigation and analysis

If you have not yet booked a place and wish to attend, please complete the online booking form (limited spaces available). For full event information go to the UKCMG website or call UKCMG on 0208 421 5330.
