Late-Breaking Technology Paper Submission: If you have a paper (or PowerPoint presentation with substantive notes) focusing on technology either recently introduced or to-be-announced before CMG'07, we invite you to submit your paper for presentation. Deadline for submission of title/abstract/paper is October 1. Details are available at http://www.cmg.org/conference/cmg2007/index.html under the Late-Breaking Paper announcement.
Program Update: The program schedule was put together in late July and a brochure highlighting the program was just printed for mailing last week. Look for it in your mailbox soon! But you can see the whole schedule on-line right now by way of the CMG web pages at http://www.cmg.org/conference/cmg2007/. Under the Conference Program option, you can also customize personal preferences for sessions of interest to you via the Conference Schedule option.
The Program Committee is preparing to announce a new keynote speaker for the Monday afternoon opening session. Our previously-announced keynote speaker regretfully had to cancel her participation in this year's conference. But we will have some exciting news for you in the next week concerning a keynote presentation that will get you thinking about the short-term outlook for capacity planning and performance concepts as well as to set the tone for the following sessions. Look for more info on the CMG'07 web site.
Our plenary speaker, Dale Dauten, is working with key CMG personnel to tailor his presentation "The Best at Better" to CMG'07 attendees. The focus will be on how we can improve the knowledge we have of our work environment to better leverage our expertise in the organization. Dale will follow up his morning session with a breakout session in the afternoon using specific examples suggested by attendees.
Volunteers for on-site tasks: About October 1, we will be offering the opportunity to sign up on-line for on-site tasks of session chairs and session monitors. As last year, volunteers can sign up directly for sessions of their choice. We will be trying a revised version of monitoring this year where a monitor will be responsible for tracking up to three rooms for an entire morning or afternoon. More details will be available once the assignments are available for selection on-line, but the plan is to reduce the number of monitors needed yet give those fewer monitors more options of sessions to see.
With this year's quality and breadth of offerings, CMG is positioning itself as the premiere source for ‘one-stop shopping' of education for the computer performance professional. Plan to attend CMG'07, and register now. We look forward to seeing you in December!
