We have experienced running WAS on Zlinux. It worked fine. However; management is waiting for our architecture group to lay out a strategy for where applications should exist. The architecture group here is just what the name implies. Ones that never worked on a mainframe. They read white papers and go to conferences. I would like to hear from others how they are using their Zlinux. How many engines to you have? What kind of applications have you put up? What was your anticipated ROI, performance expectations and etc? I am afraid with out real examples, our architecture group would think the Zlinux is still part of the old legacy dinasour. A machine based upon MIPS, SubCapacity License and etc. From the last CMG and emails I have shared with others, we must be missing some thing if we are not taking advantage of Zlinux.
